Abducted pregnant woman gives birth in Zamfara forest

A pregnant woman kidnapped by bandits in Zamfara State has reportedly given birth while in captivity, sources within the community have confirmed.

The woman, who was abducted along with other victims during a recent attack on her village, delivered her baby in the forest hideout where the kidnappers are holding her. Details about her health and that of the newborn remain unclear as rescue efforts continue.

Residents and family members have appealed to security agencies to intensify operations to secure the safe release of all abductees, especially the new mother and her baby.

The incident has drawn renewed attention to the humanitarian toll of repeated kidnappings in parts of northern Nigeria, where women and children are increasingly vulnerable during violent attacks.
