Story from Dahiru SULEIMAN, Dutse

Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has felicitated with the Muslim ummah on the occasion of Eid-el-fitr and urges Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of brotherhood and peaceful coexistence in their relationship during the Sallah celebration and beyond.

He made the plea in his Eid-el-Fitr message to Muslims in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant (Print Media ) Ahmad Muhammad Danyaro in Dutse.

Governor Badaru also enjoined Nigerians to increase their efforts in charitable endeavours, perseverance and spiritual intercession for the nation. He also urged Nigerians to further devote their prayers at the Eid praying grounds to the call on Allah to restore peace and strengthen our unity in all parts of the country, and rebuild the economy.

“We should use this post-Ramadan period and the lessons we learnt from the fasting period to steer clear of any action which does not bode well for our country.”

He congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and across the world on the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan fasting and succeeding Sallah festivities.

In his sermon shortly after Id- el- fitr Sallah prayer, The Chief Imam of Dutse, Dr. Abfullahi Sani Birnin Kudu reminded the people especially the wealthy individuals on the significance of Zakat fitr or giving out measures of food stuffs to the needy at the end of fasting period as it gives the needy sense of belonging during the festivity period.

Similarly, the Emir of Dutse, Dr Nuhu Mohammed Sunusi cautions Muslims to be tolerant to one another and law abiding citizens.

”As we’re approaching the 2023 general elections, I urge you to promote peaceful politickings for us to have a stable democracy”. He said.
