Auto crash in Bauchi kills 1, injures 4

A fatal road accident in Gyara village, Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State has claimed one life while four others were injured.
The Information Officer of Bogoro LGA, James Gomna, who stated this in a press release made available to newsmen, explained that the accident involved a 406 Peugeot car and a motorcycle.
He said the occupants of the 406 Peugeot include a lecturer with the Federal Polytechnic in Nasarawa State, Malam Nasiru B. Abdullahi, his son, Abdalla Nasiru and driver, Namama Abdulhai who all sustained an injury in the accident.
Gomna revealed that the accident occurred in the early hours of Sunday at Gyara village confirming that Malam Nasiru B Abdullahi, his son and the driver were travelling to Bauchi for a condolence visit to some of their family members.
According to an eyewitness who is a resident of Gyara, the accident occurred while the motorcycle rider was trying to overtake the car.
“I can confirm to you that this morning, two young men riding on a motorcycle wanted to overtake a vehicle leading to an accident”.
The eyewitness added that: “The young men were, Mr Godiya Samaila, a resident of Gyara village who died on the spot while his brother, Mr Abinuku sustained a deep cut on his forehead. The other victims have been taken to Bauchi for further treatment”.
The Police in Bogoro confirmed the incident and urged motorists to be wary of unnecessary overtaking when driving along highways.
Mr Godiya Samaila was later confirmed dead and his remains deposited in the morgue, he said.
