Former Commander Brigade of Guards, former Chairman Potiskum Local Government, and Chairman Aliyu Ibn Abi Dalib Islamic School Lieutenant Colonel Baba Dafa (rtd) has died on Wednesday, 14th of this month at the age of 71 in a Kano Hospital after a brief illness.
Dafa, an associate of President Muhammadu Buhari, who was his Chief Security Officer (CSO) at the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) is a well regarded and respected elder in the Potiskum community. His funeral was witnessed by thousands from all walks of life who all trooped out to pay their last respect to the revered leader.
According to Malam Nasiru Hassan who attended the funeral prayers, the loss have touch the lives of many people in Potiskum and he prayed almighty Allah (SWA) to grant the deceased aljannatul firdausi and his family the courage to bear the loss.
Alhaji Musa Kalil whose house is located near the late’s house said the late has ‘inculcated valuable qualities in all of us…he was always there for us; very simple, charismatic respectful. May he rest in peace’.
He is survived by a wife, 12 children and 12 grandchildren.
