Barely 48 hours after reconnection, national grid collapses again
In a major setback for electricity supply in Nigeria, the national grid has once again collapsed, leaving the country in darkness. Reports indicate that power output drastically dropped from a peak of 3,594.60 megawatts (MW) to a mere 42.7MW.
According to The Guardian, Nigeria’s electricity supply has reached an all-time low, plunging the nation into a state of uncertainty.
At present, the Delta Power plant remains the only operating power plant on the grid, generating a mere 41.00MW. The contribution from Afam stands at just 1.7MW.

This recent collapse comes shortly after two previous grid collapses within a span of 12 hours, causing widespread power outage across the nation.
