Be dedicated to duty, job creation, NDE tasks beneficiaries in Adamawa

Story from Usman IBRAHIM, Yola

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Adamawa State has advised 50 graduates who were beneficiaries of the scheme under the Graduate Attachment Programme (GAP) to dedicate themselves to their assignments to create employment opportunities.

Malam Mohammed Jimada, NDE Director in Adamawa, gave the advice at the orientation of 2022 recruited participants of GAP in Yola.

Jimada explained that the participants were trained and attached to different organisations as an attachment.

He said that the programme was designed to link the graduates of tertiary institutions with organisations for training and employment opportunities.

“White collar jobs are not easy to come by, we have to encourage you to do the needful for you to be self-reliant.

“You will believe with me that annually the higher institutions are graduating students in thousands, hence the need for you to take advantage of this opportunity to succeed”, he said.

He called on them to be good ambassadors of NDE and not to expect immediate rewards from their employers.

“In the process, you will absolve at the end of the attachment by the organisation by the time you put in your effort as one of them”, he said.

Mr Nuhu Bello, Head of the Vocational Department, advised the beneficiaries to apply the knowledge acquired into practice to be able to succeed and be employers of labour.

Rayyan Rasheed who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries thanked the federal government for the opportunity and pledged to be a good ambassador of NDE.

According to him, with the training acquired they will ensure that the objectives of the programme are achieved in the end.
