Gombe records over 27 kidnap cases monthly – Governor

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has lamented the rising cases of kidnapping in the state.

Yahaya expressed sadness over the situation and said over 27 kidnap cases are reported monthly in the state.

The Governor spoke on Thursday during a visit to the palace of the Mai Tangle in the Billiri Local Government Area of the state to canvass votes for the All Progressives Congress in the 2023 election, Punch reports.

He called on the people of Billiri local government to be security conscious and live in unity so as to collectively combat the menace.

Governor Yahaya also expressed dismay over the cattle rustling in Amtawalam and some cases of kidnapping for ransom in the area and urged residents to report any suspicious movement to security agencies for prompt response.
