Boy drowns in Bayelsa pool while celebrating Christmas
A Christmas celebration turned tragic in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, when a young boy drowned in the swimming pool of the popular Aridolf Hotel along Isaac Boro Expressway.
Reports indicate that the deceased, alongside other children, was at the hotel to mark the festive season and decided to spend time in the swimming pool.
An eyewitness revealed that the pool was crowded with children, making it difficult to identify how the drowning occurred. Another boy, who nearly drowned, was successfully resuscitated.

The identity of the deceased and his parents or guardians remains unknown, according to the witness. The incident has sparked significant discussions on social media, with many calling for stricter safety measures at recreational facilities.
The Bayelsa State Police Command’s spokesperson, Mr. Musa Mohammed, acknowledged the incident but was yet to provide additional details at the time of filing this report.
Authorities are urged to ensure safety protocols at public swimming pools to prevent further tragedies.
