BUA chairman moves to redeem $500,000 bonus promise to Super Eagles
Chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has begun steps to fulfil his $500,000 pledge to the Super Eagles following the team’s campaign at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Sources close to the development confirmed that arrangements are underway to ensure the pledged amount is disbursed to the players, in line with Rabiu’s commitment to reward the team for their performance and dedication during the tournament.
The BUA chairman had announced the cash incentive as a show of support for the national team, praising their resilience, discipline and representation of Nigeria on the continental stage. The pledge was widely welcomed by players, officials and football fans across the country.
The move comes amid renewed calls for stronger private-sector involvement in Nigerian sports, with stakeholders noting that timely fulfilment of such commitments boosts players’ morale and strengthens confidence in corporate support for football development.
