Cash App founder Bob Lee fatally stabbed in San Francisco

Bob Lee, the founder of Cash App and former chief technology officer of Square, was reportedly stabbed to death in San Francisco in the early hours of Tuesday, April 5, 2023.

According to sources, the 43-year-old tech executive was attacked around 2:35 a.m. in the city’s downtown Rincon Hill neighborhood.

Police found Lee with multiple stab wounds and took him to a nearby hospital, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. As of early Wednesday, no arrests had been made.

Lee had an impressive tech career, having worked at Google as well, where he led Android’s core library team and helped launch the world’s most-used operating system.

According to his LinkedIn page, he had been serving as the chief product officer of San Francisco-based cryptocurrency company MobileCoin since November 2021.
