Michigan couple welcomes first daughter in family since 1885
A Michigan couple, Carolyn and Andrew Clark, have broken their family’s record by welcoming their first daughter in over 130 years.
Their newborn, Audrey, arrived on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2023, and her birth is remarkable because she is the first girl to be born on Andrew’s side of the family since 1885, according to family records.
“It was a huge surprise for all of us,” Andrew said in an interview with Good Morning America.
Carolyn admitted that she was shocked when she first heard this information ten years ago, while she was dating Andrew, and initially didn’t believe it.
She said: “I asked his parents to confirm that information, and they replied, Oh yeah, no, we haven’t had a girl in our direct line”.
