Court restrains Kano Assembly from investigating Muhuyi Magaji

A Kano State High Court presided over by Justice Sanusi Ado Ma,aji has restrained the State House of Assembly from taking any further action in the ongoing investigation on the complaints against the suspended chairman of the State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado, pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.

The plaintiff in the suit is Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado with Kano State House of Assembly as first defendant, Attorney General of Kano State as the second defendant, Accountant General of Kano State as a third defendant and the Ad-Hoc Committee of Kano State House of Assembly as the fourth defendant.

In the interim injunction, obtained on Friday, the presiding judge, Justice restrained the state assembly from continuing with its investigation pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.

Justice Sanusi Ado Ma’aji also ordered for accelerated hearing in the substantive matter and ordered that the respondents in the matter be served through the office of the Attorney General of the State.

The judge granted the order after hearing from Counsels to the plaintiff that includes, Barr. M. K Umar, Barr. U.U Fari, Barr. R.O. Zakariyya and Barr. A.A. Muhammad.
