Damaturu flyover project nears completion, set to transform Yobe capital

Story by Sa’adatu MAINA, Damaturu

The Yobe State Commissioner of Works, Engineer Umaru Wakili Duddaye, has said the new Damaturu flyover and underpass project is on track for completion by March 2026, marking a major milestone in Governor Mai Mala Buni’s urban renewal programme.

He disclosed this on Wednesday in Damaturu, explaining that after six years of prioritising rural roads, the state is now shifting focus to renewing the metropolis.

He stated that this is one of those urban renewal projects, describing it as a three-level infrastructure comprising a flyover, ground-level road, and underpass.

Engineer Duddaye confirmed that the project, which began five to six months ago, is progressing rapidly.

“We are proud to be working within the timeframe agreed upon in the contract.
