Despite rising insecurity, Emir of Daura, 90, marries 20-year-old girl

The Emir of Daura, Farouk Umar Farouk has taken the daughter of another traditional title holder Fagacin Katsina, former Miss Aisha Iro Maikanoa, as a new wife.

It was reported that one day, Aisha was sent to the palace on an errand by her family when the Emir saw her, and immediately dispatched people to discuss their marriage. So far he has paid 1 million naira as dowry and the bride has since settled into the palace after the wedding fatiha.

Many people are not happy that the Emir, a respected grandfather will be taking a new wife when his emirate and other neighbouring states have virtually been taken over by bandits. It is expected that such issues should come at a later time.

Meanwhile, Daura Emirate is concluding a grand plan to turban the son of President Yusuf Buhari as Talban Daura on Saturday 18th December 2021. Meanwhile, the presidency has indicated that both the President and First Lady, Aisha Buhari, including Governors, Diplomats and Ministers will be in attendance.
