Throughout the unveiling of the Appropriation Bill, the governor was visibly challenged, stuttering multiple times while attempting to pronounce the monumental figure. Nevertheless, he persevered with his presentation, detailing the budget’s breakdown.

He indicated that 37 percent, or N223 billion, would be directed towards recurrent expenditure, while the remaining N381 billion (63 percent) is earmarked for capital projects.

“This budget is a product of extensive consultations and embodies my administration’s commitment to achieving its five-point agenda: security, infrastructural development, healthcare, food sufficiency, and education,” Governor Okpebholo asserted.

He further emphasised that N162 billion will be allocated specifically to enhance road infrastructure initiatives across the state.
