EFCC arrests ex-NDDC MD, Nsima Ekere, over alleged N47b fraud

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested Nsima Ekere, a former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), over alleged fraud.

Ekere was arrested on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 for allegedly diverting the sum of N47 billion through registered contractors of the agency.

This was confirmed by the EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwajaren, according to Channels TV.

Ekere’s arrest is coming two days after Ahmed Idris, the Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF), was arrested for allegedly diverting funds up to the tune N80 billion.
