EFCC nab six suspected internet fraudsters in Enugu, four others in Benue

Six suspected internet fraudsters were on Monday arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Enugu State.

In a statement issued by Wilson Uwujaren, spokesperson of the antigraft agency, the suspects were rounded at Bricks Estate, Independence Layout, Enugu based on credible intelligence on their alleged criminal activities in the state.

The suspects are: Tochukwu Okoro, Okechukwu Ejechie, Nwankwo Okeke, Edeh Emmanuel, Emeka Chukwunonso and Kenechukwu Ekunie.

According to the statement, a Toyota Camry car with registration number YAB 418 AZ was recovered from Tochukwu Okoro while laptops and mobile phones were recovered from other suspects.

Elsewhere, four other suspects were arrested on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at a popular Hotel in Makurdi, Benue State.

One of the suspects paraded, Simon Igba was in possession of a Toyota Corolla car he recently acquired and an iPhone X.

Also, more iPhones, Macbook Air and internet modems, were among items recovered from the remaining suspects.

He said the suspects will be charged to Court as soon as the investigation is concluded.
