Eid-ul Fitr: Emir of Fika preaches peace, urges parents to monitor their children

Emir of Fika and Chairman, Yobe State Council of Traditional Rulers, Dr Muhammad Ibn Abali Muhammad Idrissa, has called on the people of the state to continue to embrace peaceful coexistence and shun acts capable of inciting violence.

The Monarch made the plea in a sallah message on Thursday at his ancient palace in Potiskum, Yobe State.

“We call on our people to be extra vigilant with strange movements of unknown persons in their communities; let’s always know who are living around us in order to overcome the current security challenges rocking our dear nation”.

He used the forum to appeal to the people in authority to continue being just and fair in the discharge of their responsibilities, “and we pray God to give them the strength of steering the affairs of the ‘country and state especially in alleviating the sufferings of the masses.

I also appeal to the masses to continue exercising patience with the current economic situation of the country. Let’s collectively pray for improvement and prosperity”.

The Royal Father enjoined parents to always carefully monitor their children and give them proper upbringing in order to be responsible in the society.

Speaking on Covid-19 pandemic, the monarch added that “we also want to remind our people that Covid-19 is not yet over, we are still in it, we urge our people to continue adhering strictly to all the preventive measures of avoiding overcrowding, unnecessary movements, wash their hands properly with running water, use face masks among others.

He thanked the people of the state for the peaceful sallah celebration “on behalf of Yobe State Council of Traditional Rulers, I thank our people for the peaceful sallah and pray God to reward us abundantly for the fasting we observed”.
