Election Results: Atiku wins his polling unit with 282 votes

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has won his polling unit 012 of Ajiya Ward, Yola North Local Government area of Adamawa State.

Announcing the result of the election, the Presiding Officer, Nalaho Phillip, said Atiku scored 282 votes to defeat APC candidate Bola Tinubu who scored 57 votes.

Philip said Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi, scored 06 votes and NNPP candidate Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso scored 1 vote.

The former Vice President was accredited at 9:05 am and exercised his franchise immediately afterwards.

Similarly, in the state, Sen. Aishatu Binani, Adamawa APC gubernatorial candidate, expressed confidence that Bola Tinubu will emerge winner of the presidential election.

Binani stated this to newsmen shortly after casting her vote at Mahmudu Ribadu 006 polling units in Yola-South Local Government Area, she commended INEC for introducing the use of technology in the election.

On his part, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa tagged voters’ turnout during the presidential and national assembly elections as impressive.

He lauded the introduction of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), Fintiri spoke after casting his vote at Kirchinga in Madagali local government area of the state on Saturday.

He pointed out that BVAS has made the process of accreditation and voting easier without much delay unlike before.
