‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ breaks records, tops ₦1bn in 19 days
Nollywood sensation Funke Akindele has reached a remarkable achievement with her latest film, ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa,’ which has now surpassed ₦1 billion at the box office in only 19 days.
In a post on X.com on Monday, Akindele celebrated this achievement, announcing that the film has amassed a staggering total of ₦1,034,091,220, making it the second Nollywood production in the past year to break the billion-naira barrier.
The movie has set a new record as the fastest Nollywood title to hit the N1 billion milestone.

It has been a dominant force at the December box office, generating approximately 40% of total revenue with 202,604 admissions.
This success further cements Akindele’s reputation as the “highest-grossing producer and director” in Nollywood, as she claims the record for four of the top highest-grossing films in the industry.
Akindele expressed gratitude to her fans, saying, “God did! Thank you, Jenifans, for supporting Everybody Loves Jenifa!
“We couldn’t have gotten here without you.”
“We’re excited for what’s to come with this massive win. Keep watching in all cinemas nationwide!” She added.
The success of Everybody Loves Jenifa is not limited to Nigeria.
Just eight days after its international debut on December 20, the film has earned an impressive $194,560 (approximately N300 million) across various countries outside Africa, including the UK, US, Canada, and other regions.
Funke Akindele is known for her success at the box office.
Earlier in 2024, her film ‘A Tribe Called Judah’ also broke box office records, becoming the first Nollywood film to gross ₦1 billion within 21 days of its release.
In Everybody Loves Jenifa, she returns as the popular character Jenifa, delivering humour, drama, and suspense that audiences love.
