Explosive devices planted by Boko Haram terrorists kill 6 members in Borno

At least six Boko Haram and Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP) terrorists Thursday got killed by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) trap they set for Nigerian soldiers in Borno State.

Zagazola Makama, who is a counter-insurgency expert in Lake Chad, in a post via his Twitter handle gathered that the insurgents met their waterloo while returning from a looting mission along with Nguma village, in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State.

“That the terrorists on three gun trucks, and one motorcycle were returning from the axis between Sabongari and Multe when one of its vehicles, Toyota Hilux ran over an IED”, he twitted.

The sources who told the Counter-Insurgency Expert, said that the self-inflicted destruction consumed six of the Boko Haram criminals, while others suffered severe injuries. Consequently, angered by the incidents, the terrorists vented their anger and eliminated a Fulani man, his wife and his son.

Makama’s sources added that the terrorists later picked up the dead bodies of their deceased Mujahedeens and left the scene.

This is coming as Nigerian troops in collaboration with troops of the Multi-National Joint Task Force intensify their onslaught against the terrorists in their enclaves around Sambisa forest and fringes of the Lake Chad region in a series of clearance operations.

According to military sources, the clearance operations have resulted in the killing of many terrorists, recovery of the various calibre of arms, and ammunition as well as the rescue of many kidnapped victims.
