FAAN to temporarily shut down power at Lagos airport for maintenance
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) will carry out a temporary power shutdown at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Saturday.
This exercise, which affects the International Terminal 2 (ITZ-2), is scheduled to occur between 1:00 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. to facilitate the replacement of the 11KVA high-tension Bus Riser panel.
Obiageli Orah, FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, made this known through a statement on Friday.
The shutdown, according to FAAN, will be conducted with minimal impact on flight operations and passenger processing during the specified hours.

Royal Air Maroc, which has flights during the maintenance window, will temporarily relocate its check-in and passenger processing operations to International Terminal 1 (ITZ-1) for the duration of the maintenance work.
“Relevant stakeholders, including airlines, security agencies, and concessionaires, have been duly informed about this scheduled exercise,” Orah said. “FAAN regrets any inconvenience this may cause to our esteemed passengers and partners, but assures that the safety and security of all airport users remain paramount.”
