Federal lawmaker, Henry Nwawuba sets agenda for grassroots representation in Imo

Story from Saviour OSUOHA, Owerri

Amidst jubilations, and hope for purposeful grassroots representation of the constituents of Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency in Imo state, the member representing Mbaike in the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Henry Nwawuba, last week, set up a Thinktank Forum made up of other members of the Federal constituency.

The forum’s aim is to achieve a grassroots people-oriented representation of the constituents.

This came on the heels of recent inaugural meetings of the newly constituted Rt. Hon. Henry Nwawuba vanguard in the various INEC wards in Mbaitoli / Ikeduru federal constituency, Owerri zone.

The meetings, held across political party lines has the sole purpose of galvanising support and assistance of the constituents at the ward level for the federal lawmaker, whose achievements speak volumes. It also aims to show the people future dividends, considering the ‘legislature as a pillar of democracy’.

A statement issued to journalists at the end of the inaugural meetings indicates that Nwawuba is desirous of offering qualitative representation to his people in Abuja.

He also adds that the forum is not only saddled with the responsibility of making recommendations in respect to capital development projects in the wards but also to advise him on future political prospects by people of the federal constituency, and Owerri zone (Imo east senatorial district ).

The Mbaike constituents had earnestly asked for the return of Honourable Nwawuba in the next periodic election in Nigeria, as a ranking member of the National Parliament, considering his track records and achievements.
