Foundation endorses Dikwa as Zulum’s successor

Ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Borno State, a group known as the Advocate for African Development Foundation (AADF) has called on all stakeholders to support the candidacy of Dr. Muhammed Kyari Dikwa, the former Accountant General of the Federation, to succeed the current governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum.

The group emphasized that it would be disastrous for the state if someone without the necessary qualifications or experience, such as an illiterate, were to replace the highly successful Governor Zulum.

At a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, Aaron Mike Odeh, the National Coordinator of the foundation, praised Dr. Dikwa as a seasoned technocrat with vast experience in human capacity building and community development.

The foundation noted that the press conference was held to recognize and celebrate Dr. Dikwa’s humanitarian efforts across Nigeria. Odeh highlighted the impact of Dr. Dikwa’s Al-Ansar Foundation, which has provided numerous scholarships for Borno State indigenes at both national and international levels through a private university in Maiduguri.

“The philanthropic work carried out by Dr. Dikwa, through his Al-Ansar Foundation, has been significant, especially in the northern states. Notable among these contributions are the creation of over 20,000 security jobs through Al-Ansar Security Guards. These private security personnel have been deployed to provide security in various states, including Niger, Adamawa, Bauchi, Taraba, Borno, Yobe, Lagos, Gombe, and Kano.”

The foundation further highlighted the construction of schools in several states, including Abuja, Suleja (Niger), Kaduna, Kano, Yobe, and Borno, as well as the distribution of thousands of food items, such as rice and grains, to Nigerians in need, particularly those in Borno State. The foundation has also contributed to spiritual development by building numerous mosques in states such as Borno, Kano, Niger, and Yobe.

Through these efforts, Al-Ansar Foundation, founded by Dr. Dikwa, has made a lasting impact on communities across the country.
