FUHSA Bauchi matriculates 1,689 new students, urges discipline, academic excellence

The Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare (FUHSA), Bauchi State, on Friday, 31st January 2025, held its matriculation ceremony for newly admitted students of the 2025/2026 academic session.

The event took place at the school auditorium within the university campus.

The ceremony formally welcomed 1,689 fresh students into the university community across (22) various departments, including Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry, Radiography, Nursing, Optometry, Audiology, and others.

The matriculation ceremony featured an academic procession led by principal officers of the university, including members of management, deans of faculties, and other academic staff, all dressed in their full academic regalia.

The event was conducted in an atmosphere of dignity and order, reflecting the university’s commitment to academic excellence and discipline.

A major highlight of the ceremony was the administration of the matriculation oath, during which the students pledged to abide by the rules and regulations governing the university.

This oath signified their acceptance of the responsibilities and ethical standards expected of them as members of the university community.

In an address delivered during the ceremony, the university management congratulated the matriculating students on securing admission into the institution. They were advised to remain focused, disciplined, and dedicated to their academic pursuits, while upholding the core values of integrity, professionalism, and respect, which are essential in the health sciences profession.

The management further encouraged the students to make effective use of the academic and health training facilities provided by the university and to engage in positive activities that would enhance their intellectual and moral development.

The matriculation ceremony came to a successful close with prayers and goodwill messages, as students, parents, and invited guests expressed optimism for a productive and rewarding academic session.
