Good women are natural gift, by Abdulkarim Bashir AKĀ

When a poor man has a good wife, he feels like a king.

I was one of the millions of people who were deeply touched by the video clip of Hussaina, the wife of the Navy Officer Seaman Abbas, who was detained in a military guardroom for over six years receiving inhuman treatment due to a misunderstanding between her husband and his superior officer. The story was very emotional, tragic, and pathetic, yet inspiring. But, I managed to watched the full video like that, despite the heavy tears assembling in my cheeks, I really sympathized with Hussaina and shed alot of tears while watching how she was narrating what actually happened to her husband.

Hussaina’s bravery, resilience, and courage are exceptional and rare in our locality. Marrying someone like her, who can sacrifice and stands by her husband in critical situations like this, is a blessing.

However, women are multidimensional, and good women are rare and a natural gift on earth.

Everyone knows that life in Barrack as a junior military officer is far from enjoyment and hospitality, but yet Hussaina proved her unconditional love, loyalty, and sacrifice to her husband. Although, marriage and love are not just about enjoyment but caring, concern, and fairness above materialism.

No doubt, true love is scarce in today’s society. It is unfortunate, today, many women may leave their husbands in times of trials like this, despite being treated kindly.

That is why Hussaina’s story shocked and inspired us as men. Because she is the gift that every man need to live life with. Therefore, our people (women) should stop getting annoyed for our commendations to Hussaina. Rather they ought to learn that marriage is not limited to nice bed only or put delicious food on the table but a prison mate, and freedom fighter in the battlefield. Pure love is above any material comforts. We (men) seek a harmonious atmosphere where we can find happiness, relax, and plan for our family’s future.

Finally, agreed no one is perfect, and women are not superwomen. Human feelings and reactions are natural. And to anyone who enter marriage with unrealistic expectations will likely be disappointed.

As Seaman regained freedom, I wish him success in the new face of life and happiness in their matrimonial home.
