The Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has commissioned another township road project in Babbangida, Tarmuwa local government.
“We gather here today to mark another milestone in the steady march of our state to lasting socio-economic transformation.
“The commissioning of the Babbangida Township Road and Drainage Project, which we will do shortly, speaks to the progress we continue to make across Yobe State despite current security and fiscal challenges.

“As I said three weeks ago in Buni-Yadi during the commissioning of a similar road project there, roads are signifiers of mobility and economic advancement.
“Across the world, they are considered as part of the infrastructure necessary for a lasting socio-economic growth”, Buni said.
Buni also said his administration considered the construction of roads and concrete drains within and between major towns in the state as an important part of post-insurgency recovery.
Buni noted that the project was jointly funded by the state government and Tarmuwa Local Government Council at a 30 and 70 per cent ratio.
He commended the contractors for timely execution of the project according to contract specifications and Ministry of Works for their professional oversight and supervision.
To the people of Babbangida town, let me say this: “Our administration is committed to taking all the steps necessary to improve your living conditions and the living conditions of all the people across the state”, Buni said.
Buni enjoined the people of Tarmuwa and other local government areas who benefited from similar projects to demonstrate ownership spirit of the projects.
“I, therefore, urge you to consider this project and all other government projects and services as your own, to guard them jealously, and to use them responsibly.
“This way, our hope of a better, more prosperous Yobe State would be realised”, he appealed.
