Gov. Inuwa commiserates with victims of electrocution in Tunfure

Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State yesterday visited Tunfure quarters in the state capital to commiserate with the families of those who lost their lives as a result of electrocution.

The incident occured recently due to a surge in electric current which electrocuted at least three people to death and burnt valuables in some houses in the area.

At the residence of one of the deceased, Mr Andrew Abu Yaro, the governor said he received the news of the unfortunate incident with great shock and sadness.

He consoled the parents and asked them to take the incident as an act of God while urging the Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JED) to take measures with a view to preventing future recurrence.

“We will ensure that there is no repeat of this kind of unfortunate incident in the state.

“At the level of government, I assure you that we shall take adequate measures to prevent such from happening and we shall equally seek justice for the victims”. The governor said.

Governor Inuwa was also at the residence of Mr Patrick Okeke who lost his wife and daughter to the incident and at the home of Pastor Solomon Ayanwale who lost valuables.

The governor appealed to the residents of Tunfure to remain calm assuring that government would ensure that justice is done for both the injured and the dead persons.
