Gov. Sani Bello enhances legal infrastructure with commissioning of Law Library in Niger State
Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State commissioned the Law Library of the State Ministry of Justice in a ceremony held at the Ministry of Justice, Abdlkareem Lafene Secretariat, Minna.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mary Noel-Berje, issued a press release regarding the event.
During the commissioning, Governor Sani Bello emphasized the crucial role of the judiciary in administering justice, which he regarded as essential for maintaining peace and order.
He expressed his administration’s consistent support for the judiciary and expressed optimism that the incoming administration would continue these efforts, ensuring that the judiciary serves its purpose effectively.
Describing the Law Library as a “fantastic” project that would enhance the capabilities of lawyers, the Governor praised the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the state, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, and all the staff for their efforts in initiating and implementing the project.
Governor Sani Bello called upon the entire staff to make optimal use of the library by collaborating with other sister agencies to enrich its content with print materials, computer-assisted legal research, microform collections of laws, session laws, superseded laws, foreign and international laws, and other research resources.
Barrister Nasara Danmalam, the Commissioner for Justice, stated that the project had been one of his top priorities since his appointment as Attorney General.
He also mentioned that the area office in Kontagora is nearing completion, with around 90% of the work already done.
The Commissioner highlighted the various sections of the Law Library, including the hard library, e-library, reference section, and research section.
He emphasized that the library would be open to the general public and would significantly enhance efficiency.
Barrister Maryam Mahmud, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, commended Governor Sani Bello’s administration and the Attorney General for their efforts in updating, upgrading, and enriching the Ministry’s library.
