Gunmen attack motorists on Abuja-Kaduna highway, abduct passengers
Scores of travelers were abducted when bandits opened fire on motorists in the Iche community, a few kilometers away from Kagarko town along the Abuja-Kaduna highway at around 7 pm.
According to a resident, Shuaibu Yahaya, the bandits, armed with AK-47 rifles, shot at the vehicles, deflating their tires and then proceeded to the vehicles to abduct the passengers.
“Their gunshots attracted my attention because my house is not far from the scene. While some of the vehicles rammed into their blockade, some of them quickly made a U-turn,” said Shuaibu.

The Madaki of Janjala, Samaila Babangida, confirmed the incident, saying, “I received a call from Kagarko this morning that bandits abducted some passengers last night some few kilometers away from Kagarko town, but I don’t know the number of those abducted.”
The Kaduna State Police Command spokesperson did not respond to requests for comment as at the time of filing this report.
