Hausa/Fulani group endorses senator Emmanuel Bwacha for Taraba governor

Story from Ahmed USMAN, Jalingo

In what appears to be a political transformation from a divided Taraba to a united one, a Hausa/Fulani youth socio-cultural group, Bwacha Tan Movement (Bwacha Only) has endorsed Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, representing Taraba South in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to contest the seat of Governor in Taraba State.

Emmanuel Bwacha who was the former Senate Deputy Minority Leader, early last month, dumped his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The lawmaker announced his decision on the floor of the Senate during plenary and was accepted by President Muhammad Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The group mainly consist of youths from six local government areas of Taraba North comprising Ardo Kola, Jalingo, Karim/Lamido, Lau Yorro and Zing.

During a visit to Kpantisawa, the headquarters of Yorro local government area, the Secretary of the group Nuruddeen Isa Adamu Zawa who represented the founder, Honourable Abdulrazaq Mahmud Liman Talba enjoyed youths in Taraba State to wake up from their slumber and vote wisely in 2023 general elections.

Zawa further asked them to change the current narratives as nothing tangible is coming from the present administration in the state despite the massive support from the youths.

He decried the absence of portable drinking water as well as good and accessible roads in Yorro local government area which is well known for yam farming. He said the area lacked roads to transport yam and other agricultural products which the people are known for.

Zawa used the occasion to express gratitude to some APC stalwarts in Taraba State like Ahmed Yusuf Gamaliya, Alhaji Sani Modibbo and Mr. Iliyasu Kirim for supporting Bwacha Tan Movement which according to him would bring sanity to Taraba politics that is hitherto known for religious, tribal and sectional sentiments.

Also speaking, the Assistant Secretary of the movement, Shamsuddeen Bashir extol the virtures of Senator Emmanuel Bwacha describing him as a man with wisdom, knowledge dedication and always in selfless service to humanity, stressing that Southern Taraba has witnessed tremendous transformation under his representation at both the Upper and Lower Chambers of the National Assembly.

Bashir further explained that their organisation was so happy with the leadership style of the former Deputy Senate Minority Leader and appealed to youths in Taraba State to shun all religious and tribal politics for the interest of development in the state.

Similarly, the Bwacha Tan Movement was at the palace of Chief of Mumuye Alhaji Ado Adamu Mazang (the 2nd), who strongly warned youths not to allowed themselves to be used as vanguards of destruction of lives and property, urging them to play politics according to the game.

Jessey and some sporting kids were distributed to FC Kassa and FC Zagum, all in Yorro local government area by the movement.
