INEC declares Tinubu winner of 2023 presidential election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Bola Ahmed Tinubu, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the February 25 presidential election.

Tinubu was declared winner by Professor Mahmood Yakubu, INEC Chairman, in the early hours of Wednesday, March 1, 2023.
Tinubu emerged winner after polling 8,794,726 votes. He was declared winner having satisfied the law required.
Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, polled 6,984,520 votes, Peter Obi of Labour Party (LP) had 6,101,533 votes Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) polled 1,496,687 votes.
