The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Zamafara State is currently on strike as a result of the increase in kidnappings and armed robberies.

This was disclosed in a report with Daily Trust, saying that commercial vehicles for the fourth day on Thursday refused to work for fear of their life.

Following the recent report, kidnappings and armed robberies become a norm along the 100 km Gusau-Dansadau road, almost on a daily basis.

The Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Dansadau, Isihu Ticha, stated that this is a call for action to the Government to keep its citizens, safe.

He also added that three drivers were killed while four have been kidnapped along the highway and that 16 motorbikes were seized by bandits within a week.
