Iran threatens strong retaliation after Trump warns of possible U.S. action
Iran has warned that it will retaliate decisively if attacked by the United States, following renewed threats by former U.S. President Donald Trump amid heightened tensions between both countries.
Iranian officials said any military action against the country would be met with a swift and forceful response, stressing that U.S. interests and allies in the Middle East would be considered legitimate targets in the event of an attack.
The warning came after Trump accused Iran of gross human rights abuses during its crackdown on nationwide protests and hinted at possible U.S. action should the situation escalate further. His remarks have fueled concerns of a renewed confrontation between Washington and Tehran.

Reacting to the comments, Iranian authorities accused the U.S. of attempting to interfere in Iran’s internal affairs, insisting that the ongoing unrest was being exploited by foreign powers to destabilise the country. Tehran maintained that it is fully prepared to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The exchange comes amid continued protests across Iran, sparked by economic hardship and political grievances, with reports of casualties and mass arrests drawing international condemnation.
