The Power of Trusting Allah (Tawakkul)
Many people think tawakkul means simply waiting for Allah to solve their problems. Islam teaches something deeper: make every lawful effort you can, then place your trust in Allah regarding the outcome.
A farmer plants seeds, waters them, and protects the crop. Yet he knows that growth ultimately comes from Allah. Likewise, believers work hard, plan wisely, and pray sincerely, while recognizing that success is in Allah’s hands.

“And whoever puts his trust in Allah, then He is sufficient for him.”

Lesson from the Life of the Prophet ﷺ
When the Prophet ﷺ migrated from Makkah to Madinah, he did not rely on miracles alone. He carefully planned the journey, selected companions, and took practical measures for safety. At the same time, he placed complete trust in Allah. This balance of effort and faith is the essence of tawakkul.
Practical Actions for Today
1. Begin your day with sincere intention.
2. Perform your prayers on time.
3. Help someone without expecting anything in return.
4. Read and reflect on a few verses of the Qur’an.
5. Before sleeping, thank Allah for at least three blessings you experienced during the day.
Du’a
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الهُدَى وَالتُّقَى وَالعَفَافَ وَالغِنَى
“O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and contentment.”
May Allah grant you beneficial knowledge, righteous deeds, and steadfast faith. Ameen.
