Iwobi protests poor Super Eagles hotel in Morocco
Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has sparked reactions after sharing a video showing the poor state of the hotel provided for the team in Morocco ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup African play-off match against Gabon.
According to reports, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) is responsible for arranging accommodations for participating nations, though national associations like the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) can request changes if dissatisfied.
This incident adds to a series of complaints by Nigerian players over substandard lodging during international tournaments. Earlier this year, Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade also criticised CAF for the quality of accommodation during the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The Super Eagles will face Gabon on November 13 as they continue their bid for a place at the 2026 World Cup. Both CAF and the NFF have yet to respond to the video
