Story from Yakubu VENTIM, Jos
The Management Committee Chairman of Jos North Local Government Area, Honourable Shehu Bala Usman, has commended the Muslims Ummah for their hitch-free exercise and employed them to emulate the teachings of Prophet Mohammed in their conduct.
This was disclosed Tuesday, by the Jos North Local Government Senior Information Officer, Philip Eplong.
Usman reiterated that all Muslim faithful worldwide should emulate the virtuous lifestyle of total obedience, love, peace, togetherness, justice, and self-sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim as they celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir.
The Chairman in a statement urged the Muslim Ummah to use the occasion to extend hands of support, a show of love and good neighbourliness as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim and upheld by Prophet Muhammad.
Usman said Eid-el-Kabir is a period for renewing the spirit of compassion to fellow men and sacrifice in the service of humanity.
He admonished Muslims to continue to reflect on the significance of the celebration which he said bordered on encouraging piety, sacrifice and love, noting that without love, no state or society could advance well.
The Chairman urged them to continue to pray for peace, progress and development of the country.
He assured of a peaceful celebration in Jos North as the LG administration has made arrangements with security agencies to ensure that all citizens celebrate the Sallah in peace and harmony.
The Chairman then wished the Muslim Ummah a happy Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
