Kaduna Governor Uba Sani loses seat as Tribunal declares election inconclusive

On Thursday, the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Kaduna declared the 2023 gubernatorial election in the state inconclusive and sacked Governor Uba Sani of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to Politics Nigeria, the judges made the announcement via Zoom after choosing to shun the physical hall.

The petition was filed by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Isah Mohammed Ashiru.

In a split decision with a 2:1 ratio, the tribunal instructed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a supplementary election within 90 days in seven wards across four Local Government Areas.
