Bandits have released six students and two staff of Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic kidnapped in Zaria Kaduna state, after 28 days in captivity.
The six students and two staff of the institution were abducted on June 11, 2021, from their hostels and staff quarters, when gunmen raided the school, killing one student in the process.

Their release was confirmed by the Public Relations Officer of the Polytechnic, Abdullahi Shehu, who disclosed to Channels TV that the kidnapped students and staff members regained their freedom Thursday night at an undisclosed location in Kaduna after a long negotiation between the bandits, parents and relatives of the victims was concluded.
Shehu, however, failed to say whether or not a ransom was paid to secure their release.
He further said the school authority is expected to receive the students later in the day at a location where they were kept after their release.
