Kaduna Insecurity: Police repel bandits attack at Maraban Jos police division

Story from Saleh INUWA, Kano

Armed bandits in large number attempted to attack Maraban Jos Police Division over the weekend but the attack was repelled by gallant officers of the Command.

The Bandits who came in 3 Sharon utility vehicles were so desperate to overpower personnel on duty by shooting sporadically in order to gain access into the division armoury but met professional and stiffer resistance from those on duty.

The gun duel between the bandits and the station guards lasted for some minutes, however, the superior and tactical power of the police forced the bandits to retreat with several bullets wounds.

The operatives were able to secure the armoury, the entire station and neighbouring facilities, sadly one inspector and 2 other police constables are currently receiving treatment as a result of injuries they sustained.

Details of the attack which was made available to pressmen by ASP Muhammad Jalige Public Relations Officer of Kaduna State Police Command added that in view of the incident Kaduna State Commissioner of Police issued a strong directive that all measures should be taken to protect lives and properties in the State, while an investigation is on to arrest the bandits.
