Kano-born Abdul Yassar emerges winner of NCS National Quiz Competition

A Kano State indigene, Abdul Yassar Yahaya Musa, has emerged as one of the four winners of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) annual national quiz competition.

Yassar, who is an SS II student of Day Science Secondary School, Kano is the first Kano indigene to emerge a winner of the competition since the inception of the annual quiz over two decades.

The competition which was held virtually in three categories of state, zonal and national levels was concluded last Wednesday.

The Secretary, NCS, Kano Chapter, Malam Lukman Bayero told newsmen on Saturday that two students from 35 secondary schools in Kano participated in the annual quiz competition.

“This is the first time we are having a winner emerging from the competition that started over twenty years ago”, Bayero said.

“The registration for the competition was formally opened in March, to be accessed through www.ncs.org.ng”.

He noted that the four winners would be presented their awards on August 2nd, in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
