Kano elders, emirate council ask Abdulazeez Ganduje to withdraw petition from EFCC

Kano elders including the Kano emirate council are putting pressure on Abdulazeez Umar Ganduje to withdraw the petition he submitted to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) accusing his mother of corruption.
Neptune Prime’s correspondent gathered that Abdulazeez, the first son of Governor Umar Ganduje, was prevailed upon by friends and respected elders in Kano not to drag his mother to EFCC, but instead, they should settle their problem in the house. But when Abdulazeez was ready to listen to their advice, his mother refused all efforts to keep the public out of the crisis.

At the time of filing this report, the entire Ganduje family were out of the country to attend the graduation ceremony of Ganduje’s youngest son at one of the universities in the United Kingdom.
Before the first family travelled out of the country, the first lady, Professor Hafsat Umar Ganduje was approached by some commissioners in the state and other businessmen for her to give them the go-ahead to pay the money in question but she allegedly refused for them to do so and also shunned EFCC’s invitation.
Some Ulamma’s and opinion leaders in Kano were not happy over the incident saying there is no way in a respected society that a son would drag his biological mother to EFCC.
