Kano Hisbah arrest 78 youths for attempting same-sex marriage

Kano State Hisbah have arrested 78 young men and women in Nasarawa GRA when they were planning to contract same-sex marriage among themselves.
The state Hisbah Commander General, Haruna Ibn Sinah, told the media in their Sharada head office in Kano, that they received a tip-off from residents of the area that some youths are planning to organize a same-sex marriage in one house called the white house.
He then planted his men around the house to arrest the youths when they turn up for the ceremony. Later in the night, the youths converged at the “Nasarawa White House”, more than 78 of them, the Hisbah men then invaded the building and arrested 78 of them, with some of them already stark naked.

It was revealed by residents that the building white house has been there for a very long time. It is where youths from the area converge in the night to commit all sorts of atrocities, namely: consumption of drugs, alcohol, shisha, lesbianism, homosexuality and all manner of criminal practices.
Some people of the area told Neptune Prime’s correspondent that one of the rules of the white house is that once you reach the gate whether you are a boy or girl you must remove your dress, before entering. You will leave your clothes at the gate with the security men, and this has been happening for years. All efforts by well-meaning people of the area to compel Kano Hisbah to secure permission from the state government and demolish the building was not successful.
The Commander General of Kano Hisbah who is in the custody of the 78 youths arrested, told the press that the victims claimed that they used to go to the white house to watch football and other games which they used to pay a small gate fee. But a reliable source told the media that the boys and girls arrested came from different local governments in Kano to witness the same-sex marriage, but it was leaked and Hisbah men arrested them. Kano is a shariah state and has a punitive law against those that are breaching the laws of the state.
Similarly, two years ago the same issue happened at the white house when some youths were arrested having open fornication in the centre, but because they were children of the rich they were later released on bail, and the owner of the building was not even invited for questioning.
