KAROTA seizes N30 million worth of fake pharmaceuticals

The Kano Road and Traffic Agency (KAROTA) announced that it has seized counterfeit and expired pesticides and pharmaceutical products valued at N30 million within the state.

According to a statement from the Agency’s Public Relations Officer, Nabilusi Abubakar, this operation occurred on Friday in Kano.

Personnel from KAROTA intercepted a vehicle on Zaria road around 9:00 p.m. on August 24th, which raised suspicion.

Upon further investigation, the driver presented a backdated waybill, eventually abandoning the vehicle and fleeing the scene.

The confiscated items include a range of products such as Magnesium suspension, painkillers, Amoxicillin, Diclofenac injections, Ciprofloxacin, antibiotics, and Dexamethasone, among others.
