Kebbi Gov’t to train 10 thousand AGME applicants in the state

The Kebbi State Government is to train ten thousand applicants of the Federal Government Agriculture Business Small and Medium Enterprise Investment Schemes (AGMEs) in the state.

Addressing newsmen in his office, the Secretary to the government of the state, Alhaji Babale Umar Yauri, said the programme was aimed at reducing poverty and as well to empower youth in the state.

He revealed that two consultant firms had been engaged in the training of the applicants to ensure that everyone benefited from the schemes.

Alhaji Yauri said, “six local governments have been selected for the training, Moure Consultant and Mallipai Foundation is the consultant that will handle the two weeks training scheme.”

The Local Government Areas that the training will take place simultaneously includes, Birnin-kebbi, Jega, Argungu, Dakingari,  Yauri and Zuru.

Alhaji Yauri, however, called on the applicants to be committed to the programme as this will go a long way to make them become self-employed.
