Malami turns himself in to DSS after prolonged standoff at Kuje Prison

Former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, has surrendered himself to the Department of State Services (DSS) after a days-long standoff at the Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja.

Sources confirmed that Malami presented himself to DSS operatives on Tuesday following intense negotiations that reportedly followed his arrival at the prison facility earlier in the week.

The standoff, which drew public attention, was said to be linked to ongoing investigations involving the former minister, though official details of the matter remain unclear.

Security sources said Malami’s surrender has eased tensions around the Kuje facility, which witnessed heightened security presence during the impasse.
