Man arrested for killing girlfriend in hotel
The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended Amos Daniel, also known as “Gambit,” in connection with the murder of his girlfriend, Endurance, at a hotel in the Ayobo-Ipaja area.
The incident occurred on July 17, 2025, after Daniel checked into the hotel with two friends and later met up with the victim.
According to eyewitnesses, strange noises emanated from their room around 10 p.m., prompting concern from hotel staff and guests. When attempts to contact the occupants failed, a guest and security staff member used a spare key to access the room, finding Endurance’s lifeless body with multiple injuries.

Hotel staff alerted others, leading to a search for Daniel and his accomplices, who had fled. Daniel was later found hiding within the hotel premises and was apprehended while trying to escape. Witnesses claim he confessed to the crime, stating it was a ritual killing.
The police confirmed the incident, stating that the hotel manager reported the crime at Ayobo Police Station. A dagger suspected to have been used in the attack was recovered from Daniel, along with other incriminating items from his premises.

The victim’s body has been deposited at the Mainland General Hospital mortuary for autopsy, and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
