The UEFA Supa Cup is played between winners of the UEFA Champions League and that of Europa Cup which Sevilla won after defeating AS Roma 4–1 on penalties in the final.

Despite high expectations on goals from City, the English side managed to level up after Sevilla opened the scoreline by Youssef En-Nesyri in the 25th minute.

City’s emerging talent, Cole Palmer replied with a goal via a stunning header from a tight angle in the 63rd minute to make it 1-1.

A goal was needed to for a winner but neither side were able to convert their chances after 90 minutes as referee blew the whistle for penalty shootout.

After four shootouts each City were next to take their presumably last kick as Kyle Walker smashed the ball into the net to make it 5-4.

Sevilla were rather unlucky for the night as Nemanja Gudelj let them down after his kick hit the cross bar to give the Citizens their first silverware of the season.
