Man gets life sentence for raping 17-year-old varsity student

In addition to other punishments, a man named Daniel Amaso received a life sentence for robbing and raping a 17-year-old Niger Delta university student.

According to the allegations, the accused broke into the student’s apartment using a knife, raped her while she was under duress, and then stole her phone in Amassoma community, Southern Ijaw LGA.

The Bayelsa State high court, presided over by Hon. Justice Christine Kombo-Enegesi, in Yenagoa, convicted Daniel guilty on three charges.

He was found guilty of the charges and given a life sentence for the rape and armed robbery offenses and a seven-year sentence for the severe harm offense.
