A tragic incident unfolded in Bama, Borno State, as 50-year-old Modu Isa is currently recovering in the hospital after a harrowing suicide attempt.

The shocking act is believed to have been prompted by emotional distress after his former wife, Bayanxe Modu from Konduga, whom he had divorced three times, refused to reconcile and return to his home.

Police patrol officers promptly arrived at the scene, recovering the knife used in the act as evidence.

Isa was rushed to General Hospital, Bama, where he is reportedly responding to treatment.
